BTRAC

OEM Custom Solutions

Our Roots: Badger Truck Refrigeration

Before the BTRAC name, the company operated as Badger Truck Refrigeration — where some of the earliest groundwork for mobile heavy-duty HVAC solutions was laid.

In the early years, off-road equipment and logging machinery operated in extreme conditions: heat, dust, vibration, long hours, and operator fatigue. Climate control systems weren’t standardized or purpose-built.

They had to be engineered

Badger Truck Refrigeration helped pioneer the types of heating and cooling setups installed in early logging equipment and specialty machinery. These were not off-the-shelf kits. They were custom-designed systems built to survive harsh environments and demanding duty cycles.

That hands-on innovation helped establish expectations the industry still follows today

Much of the heavy-duty mobile HVAC approach used across the industry traces back to this era of problem-solving engineering.

From Field Fabrication to OEM Integration

Over the past five decades, the industry has evolved dramatically:

BTRAC evolved with it — moving from field-built solutions to engineered systems designed specifically for manufacturer integration.

Today, we partner with OEMs to provide:
